Video Analysis of the Precision Manufacturing Process for the Stator Core of an Axial Flux Motor—Jiuju Motor’s Automated Assembly Line

The stator cores of axial flux motors are primarily divided into three types: laminated silicon steel, SMC monolithic die-casting, and wound cores. These three processes cater to different performance and cost requirements. The laminated silicon steel process is mature, cost-effective, and highly suitable for mass production; however, it exhibits relatively high iron losses under high-frequency operating conditions; SMC one-piece die-casting offers high dimensional accuracy, flexible magnetic circuit design, and lower high-frequency losses, making it suitable for high-speed, high-efficiency motors; however, material and processing costs are higher. Wound cores, formed as a single piece without seams, feature lower magnetic resistance and outstanding power density, but require a higher initial investment in equipment. Selection should be based on motor speed, energy efficiency metrics, and mass production scale, balancing the three key factors of iron loss, processing costs, and production efficiency to precisely match various axial flux motor applications, such as household, automotive, and industrial drive systems.
