Video Analysis of Challenges in Mass Production of Axial Flux Motors: Magnet Assembly—Jiuju Motor’s Automated Assembly Line

In axial flux motors, the strong repulsive forces between magnets make it extremely easy for them to become misaligned or have their magnetic poles reversed during assembly, posing the primary challenge in mass production. Jiuju Automation Equipment enables the simultaneous insertion of 7 pairs of magnets into slots. By utilizing a servo-coordinated pushing mechanism to counteract the strong magnetic repulsion, it prevents the magnets from colliding and chipping their edges. Equipped with CCD vision-based N/S pole error-proofing detection, the system identifies magnetic pole orientation in real time, eliminating incorrect installation. Precision positioning fixtures constrain the movement of the magnets, ensuring uniform and orderly spacing, and allowing the strong magnets to settle smoothly into place. The entire process is completed in a single integrated operation, ensuring stable and controllable assembly precision. This reduces manual intervention, improves the consistency of magnet assembly, mitigates motor torque fluctuations and operational noise, and efficiently resolves the bottleneck in magnet assembly for axial flux motors, making the process suitable for large-scale continuous production.
